Built by Turner Construction Company and designed by architect Al Simpson of Simpson-Peck Inc., Oglesby Towers was one of the first high-rises built in the South Shore area. Construction on the building began on March 1, 1962 (Completed in 1964) with a price tag of 4 million dollars. The building which boasts twenty-five floors and 191units has housed the “who’s who” of South Shore and has been the home to celebrities, ambassadors, dignitaries, politicians and industry professionals alike. Purchased by TLC Management in January of 2008, this luxury community offers one of the finest addresses in South Shore and features spacious studio, one and two bedroom floor plans, fabulous balcony views and an array of amenities.
Since the purchase of Oglesby Towers in 2008, TLC Management Company has been making dramatic upgrades to this luxury community. Part of the renovations include dramatic updates to all units including modern kitchens and appliances, modernization of bathrooms and living areas to accent the panoramic views. The renovations haven’t stopped there! Also included in the renovation is a brand new community room, leasing office, and rooftop fitness center boasting breathtaking views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan, extensive upgrades to the multi-story parking garage, newly decorated interiors including the lobby and mail area. Beautifying the inside has only been the beginning as TLC Management is now tackling the daunting task of almost completely renovating the exterior. These significant façade restorations include roof replacement, upgrading building systems including life-safety, elevators, electrical and plumbing.
